What is Pultrusion?
Pultrusion is a manufacturing process that creates constant cross sectional parts with high resin to fiber ratio. The fibers are impregnated with a suitable resin. Then, they are pulled slowly through a heated mold. Then, the product is cooled and cut to the desired shape.
Pultrusion Process
Firstly, correct fibers and resin are selected for the part. Chosen fiber reinforcement is fed from fiber spools. The fibers then go through a resin bath completing the impregnation process.

These impregnated fibers are transferred to a preheated mold and they are cut to the desired size. The parts is pulled through the mold with piston assembly. Lastly, the cured parts are left cool down.
Advantages
- Ideal for mass produced large parts
- Versatile manufacturing process
- Smooth surface
- Great fatigue life
